Aqua aerobics combines swimming with gymnastics to create a demanding fitness program for the pool. Back and joints are not put under pressure while the cardio-circulatory system and muscles are strengthened. The special feature of aqua aerobics is the addition of rhythmic accompanying music which sets the pace for the exercises. These rhythmic movements in the resistance of the water provide an all-round gymnastic workout for various muscle groups.
